I think I forgot to post this blog on my progress report. So here it is.

De.licio.us....I just don't know if I will use. I liking opening IE and clicking on favorites for my bookmarks. I know that you can do so much more in de.licio.us but I like simple. I think that after the training I will have to go back to this lesson and play some more with it.

I thought it was easier to search for blogs in Technorati then in blogspot.com. Oh, there are way too many blogs out there and people are blogging about way too many things.

LibraryThing was way cool. I loved searching for and adding books to my list. I can use this site to search for related books to checkout at my library. I actually have one book that no one else has, not even a "pro" subscriber.

That is enough for me today-two blogs in one day is too much.
I told myself I would never sign up for a Myspace account and be like the millions of them out there. But for the purposes of learning, I will. I just didn't like the idea of adversting yourself out there for everyone to see. It turned me off the way people would post such suggestive pictures of themselves. It was like I had to be cool to join. So I kinda of agreed with what was stated in the "Librarian in Black". I was not happy when the library decided to unblock Myspace from the Some Filtered level. I couldn't believe it that we were going to let all these kids be exposed to all that. But there are some good things about Myspace that I do like. My sister in law post pictures of my nieces on her site and she sets it to private so for me to be able to view these pictures I would have to have an account and befriend her. So now I will be able to view all of them. I also like the blogging part of Myspace. Well, that's what I had to say about Myspace and I will have to play with it to see if I want to keep it after the training. Maybe just to be able to look at the pictures of my nieces.

Oops! I did my progress log already but I missed the second part of the RSS & Newsreader. Well, I did that today and just like before there's a lot to look at, read, and do. I can't seem to keep up with all these feeds. I subscribed to a couple of news sites and everyday or two I go in and look at my bloglines account and I will have about 20 or more updates for each feed. There's way too much information but with the feed updates I just look at the new stuff that I want to look at and be done with it. That's the cool part.

Anyways, I used the RSS search tools to search my interest of knitting and it brought up a lot of things. Interesting fact that I found while searching the subject, knitting, was that a lot of knitting bloggers are located in Australia. That was weird. I think that Blogline's search tool was the easiest tool to use. It kept it simple. Feedster is another nice one to use with the 3 different mode to search by. I really like Topix's "find your news" by entering your city and state. It makes searching for local news easy. Google Blog search was kinda like Blogline's search but you can use it for regular Google searches too. I however didn't like Syndic8.com because there was so much info in their site that it get's too confusing. I like it simple. Give me a search box and let me at it. Hopefully I will find what I need.

Finally, I'm done with this lesson. On to Myspace which I have dread about.

Are you blogging this?
